Another serviceman in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic was sentenced to five years

In Kabardino-Balkaria, a court sentenced Zamir Begiyev to five years in prison. He was found guilty of leaving his military unit without leave during mobilization.

According to investigators, Begiyev failed to report for duty on June 19, 2024, and remained at his place of residence until February 3, 2025. He then voluntarily reported to the investigative department in Nalchik.

The serviceman admitted his guilt. In sentencing, the court took into account the defendant's remorse and his awareness of the illegality of his actions.

Previously, the Nalchik Garrison Military Court has repeatedly sentenced contract soldiers and mobilized personnel to prison terms. Specifically, Algiz Valitov received two years in prison, and Timur Yandiev and Amerkhan Kurskiyev received five years. Arsen Baev and Murat Khapov were sentenced to seven and five years in prison, respectively.
