A man who criticized Putin was fined in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic

A court in Nalchik fined local resident Timur Balkarov 30 thousand rubles. He was found guilty under an administrative article on discrediting the Russian army.

According to the investigation, the man posted a video in a messenger in which he "expressed himself in an obscene manner toward the President of the Russian Federation." In addition, he spoke in favor of Ukraine and thereby discredited the Russian armed forces.

Balkarov did not appear at the court hearing, and the case was considered in his absence. According to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, in the event of a repeated act under the relevant article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, he faces criminal liability.
