Police in Russia's North Ossetia have launched an inquiry following a campaign of online harassment targeting women through the Telegram channel Kavkazskaya Obshchina ("Caucasian Community"). The channel's administrators published women's personal information, insulted them and issued threats of violence over behaviour they claimed violated Caucasian traditions.
Alexei Navalny died in prison
The Federal Penitentiary Service in the Yamalo-Nenets District spread the news about the death of opposition politician Alexei Navalny in IK-3. It is reported that Navalny felt ill after the walk and lost consciousness. He allegedly lost a blood clot and died.
“All necessary resuscitation measures were carried out, but did not yield positive results. Emergency doctors confirmed the death of the convict,” the FSIN says in its conclusion. Putin was informed of Navalny’s death, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
During his imprisonment, the oppositionist was sent to a punishment cell 27 times. According to relatives, he spent 308 days there. The last time he was placed in a punishment cell was on February 14.
