Protesters in Tbilisi demanded the release of a Russian woman convicted following protests

A protest in support of imprisoned Russian citizen Anastasia Zinovkina took place in Georgia. Participants gathered outside the Public Defender's (Ombudsman's) office in Tbilisi, demanding her transfer to a medical facility due to her deteriorating health.

Zinovkina reportedly suffers from spinal problems and, according to her, receives only painkillers without proper treatment, despite her requests for an orthopedic mattress and pillow. The pain is reportedly so severe that it makes it difficult for her to move.

Anastasia Zinovkina and Artem Gribulya moved to Georgia from Russia and took part in the protests. In December 2024, they were detained by law enforcement. According to information provided by Zinovkina's friend, 16 grams of Alpha-PVP (a narcotic psychostimulant) were planted during a search. Zinovkina was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison. Gribulya went on a hunger strike to protest the conditions of her detention.
