During a live Q&A broadcast by the Grozny State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov announced his willingness to run for reelection in 2026. He emphasized that he would only participate in the elections if he received an offer from President Vladimir Putin and popular support.
Mikhail Podolyak, advisor to the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, believes that former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili is "Putin's prisoner," and that the actions of the Georgian government are in line with the Kremlin's interests.
"Saakashvili built a new Georgia and set it on the path to Euro-Atlantic integration. Today's authorities are merely executors of the will of the Russian dictatorship," Podolyak emphasized.
On November 12, Mikheil Saakashvili was returned from a private clinic to prison. On November 14, he appealed to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to include him in the list of civilian prisoners of war in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Saakashvili has been in custody since 2021. This spring, his total prison sentence was increased to 12.6 years. According to previous sentences, he must remain in custody until April 1, 2034. In addition, the prosecutor's office recently announced the opening of a new criminal case against him on charges of calling for a violent change of the constitutional order or government.
