Chechen authorities will be able to access blocked resources thanks to special SIM cards
The administration of the head and government of Chechnya will receive 144 special SIM cards that will provide unlimited access to messaging apps, social media, and foreign email and cloud services blocked in Russia. This was announced on the government procurement website.
Users will be able to access these resources without changing their phone number or using a VPN. Each special card holder will receive unlimited outgoing calls, 50 GB of monthly internet traffic, 1,000 SMS messages, and access to Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, X (formerly Twitter), and Gmail. Telegram is not listed among the permitted services. The annual service fee will be over 2.3 million rubles. The provider will be determined by March 3.
