Georgian authorities accuse leaders of France, Poland and Germany of involvement in conspiracy theory

The list of world leaders who, according to the Georgian authorities, are involved in the "Deep State" conspiracy theory includes French President Emmanuel Macron, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. This happened immediately after they published a joint critical statement addressed to official Tbilisi.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze emphasized that these politicians "can no longer make decisions independently."

"As for this trilateral statement, it is absolutely obvious that the Deep State dominates Europe. Of course, this is clearly evident from all of this. And even leaving the details aside, this is a matter of etiquette: May 26 is a solemn day, and on a holiday it is customary to receive congratulatory letters, solemn statements are made. They do not even observe protocol, they do not even observe etiquette.

Based on this, it seems that they cannot really be guided by objective interests, even their own objective interests. They have to work in a line that does not correspond to their interests, this is regrettable and sad,” Kobakhidze shared his conclusions.

According to him, Macron’s position has clearly changed after the summit in Albania under the influence of the “Deep State.” Also, according to Kobakhidze, the conspiracy theory has an impact on US Ambassador Robin Dunnigan. This is how he explains her absence from the event on the occasion of Georgia’s Independence Day, which she initially really wanted to attend.

Recall that on May 26, on the occasion of Georgia’s Independence Day, the aforementioned European leaders issued a joint statement in which they strongly condemned “all actions by the Georgian authorities that lead to a rollback of democracy and attacks on civil society, the media, and critics of the government.” They also supported Georgia’s territorial integrity and expressed solidarity with its people.

In early January, the political council of the Georgian Dream published a collective statement that spoke extensively about the Deep State conspiracy theory. According to the statement, it is the Deep State that is behind the "global war party." The authors note that "over the past 4 years, it is the Deep State that has destroyed not only America, but also many other countries in the world." However, the mysterious global network, according to the political council of the ruling party, did not defeat the Georgian authorities, and therefore the country. In addition, in January, Levan Machavariani, a member of parliament from the ruling party of Georgia, shared a chain of conclusions about the relationship between the so-called radical opposition of the country and the new US administration. The member of the Georgian Dream called the head of the White House an enemy of the Deep State and, as a result, supporters of the network in the form of radical oppositionists.

Billionaire and former Nagorno-Karabakh state minister Ruben Vardanyan, sentenced in Baku to 20 years in prison, rejected the legal force of the ruling and dropped his appeal. His family explained that this decision stemmed from the fact that, in their view, the trial was a "staged performance" rather than a proper trial: the hearings were held behind closed doors, without access to independent observers, and the prosecution's motions were ignored. The full text of the verdict was also not released.

Chechnya Leads in Lowest Alcohol Sales

In 2025, residents of the North Caucasus regions consumed the least amount of hard liquor in Russia. The lowest official retail sales figures were recorded in Chechnya (0.01 liters per capita). Other republics of the North Caucasus Federal District also demonstrated modest figures: Ingushetia - 0.7 liters, Dagestan - 2.2 liters, Kabardino-Balkaria - 2.6 liters, North Ossetia - 3 liters, and Karachay-Cherkessia - 3.4 liters. Experts attribute this decline to the prevalence of cultural and religious restrictions, as well as a preference for low-alcohol beverages.
