Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili stated that the ruling party's signing of a document in support of Ukraine was motivated not so much by fears of an international investigation as by a desire to irritate Russia.
Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin, publishing available intelligence data, stated that Russia would like to prevent attempts at a "color revolution" in Georgia.
"The fact that the SVR made public the information it obtained about the hostile activities of Western intelligence agencies and government agencies, such as the US State Department - we are doing this in order to contribute to preventing attempts at a "color revolution" in Georgia," Naryshkin emphasized.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service warned of the US intention to "organize a Tbilisi Maidan" in order to prevent the ruling Georgian Dream party from winning the parliamentary elections on October 26.
Today, the head of the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Georgia Razhden Kuprashvili said at a briefing that some opposition parties do not disclose full information about their financing. According to him, this threatens the fair electoral process.
