A Muslim blogger arrested for criticizing the "Russian Community" has been placed back in pretrial detention

Islamic blogger Mansur Gneev has been returned to pretrial detention after the Krasnodar Regional Court overturned his house arrest. This was reported by his wife. According to her, security forces returned some of the confiscated items after the search, but the money and religious paraphernalia remain in their possession.

A criminal case was opened against 23-year-old Gneev in September. He is accused of extremism for a YouTube video in which he criticized the nationalist organization "Russian Community." This organization, active since 2020 and intensified in 2024, is known for its anti-immigrant protests and possible ties to Russian security forces.

Mansur Gneev also published a video about a public conflict between Apti Alaudinov, head of the Akhmat special forces, and Schema-Hegumen Gabriel. The conflict erupted over Gabriel's statement that Muslims could "massacre Muscovites at the first order of any mullah." As a result of the incident, the cleric was dismissed. Orthodox activists demanded an investigation into Alaudinov's statements regarding Gabriel, as well as his suitability for his position in the military command.
