Residents of Dagestan who warmed their feet at the Eternal Flame were given real prison terms

In Stavropol Krai, two men from Dagestan were sentenced to real prison terms for warming their feet at the Eternal Flame.

The defendants were found guilty of desecrating a symbol of Russia's military glory and were each sentenced to two and a half years in a penal colony. According to investigators, the men desecrated the monument "Eternal Flame of Soldiers' Glory and Immortality" in the village of Kurskaya. The defendants did not admit guilt and were immediately placed in a pre-trial detention center after their arrest.

In March, two girls were convicted in Dagestan for making coffee at the Eternal Flame. They were given one year of probation under the article on insulting the memory of defenders of the Fatherland. According to the case materials, in June 2023, the girls made coffee at the monument to the Liberator Soldier in the Lenin Komsomol Park in Makhachkala.
