The Supreme Court of Russia upheld the 11-year sentence of the native of Dagestan Yusup Omarov, finding him guilty of inducing him to commit a terrorist act. According to the lawyers, the criminal case was falsified and the prosecution witnesses are agents of the security forces. 

The Soviet District Court of Makhachkala ordered the arrest of a fourth policeman suspected of torture and murder of a local resident in the police department. Criminal proceedings were instituted against him for abuse of authority.

Representatives of «Team against Torture» claimed that the evidence was falsified in one of the expert examinations in the case of Zarema Musayeva, accused of causing harm to the health of a police officer. 

On April 28, searches were carried out at the office of the human rights organization “Team Against Torture” in Nizhny Novgorod and at the home addresses of three of its employees. The reason was a criminal case initiated in North Ossetia, which was handled by CPT lawyers.

On April 28, in the Akhmatovsky District Court of Grozny, where the trial of the mother of oppositionists Yangulbaevs, Zarema Musaeva, was underway, her defenders demanded that the results of one of the examinations be excluded from the evidence in the case. We were talking about the study of nail sections on which the blood of a police officer who was injured by Musaeva’s attack was allegedly found.

The fourth operative of the police department for the Soviet district of Makhachkala was detained in a case concerning the use of torture against a local resident of Kurban Dalgatov, as a result of which he died. Three staff members were detained in January.

The wife of a Crimean Tatar political prisoner, Lehman Zekeryaev, visited him in Simferopol detention centre. Since his arrest, he has been in a special unit. 
According to his wife, no physical violence was used against Zekeryaev, but he was persuaded to cooperate with the security forces. 

Activist of the "People’s Front of Azerbaijan" party Zamin Salayev went into a coma after a 79-day hunger strike in the remand centre. He came to from an intravenous drip.
