Armenia has requested EU assistance in protecting itself from possible interference in its elections, fearing destabilizing actions by Russia. This was stated by the head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas.
According to her, Yerevan is concerned about the potential destabilization of the political situation by Moscow and is considering various scenarios for possible interference in the electoral process.
"Elections will be held in Armenia next year. Today, we will discuss how we can assist Armenia in this matter. Armenia has asked us for help in preventing external interference," Kallas said.
The United Kingdom previously expressed its readiness to cooperate with international partners to protect Armenia's electoral system from any attempts at external influence, including possible actions by the Russian Federation. This was stated by British Minister of State for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories Lio Doughty.
