Azerbaijan Celebrates Constitution Anniversary

On November 12, Azerbaijan celebrates the 30th anniversary of the adoption of its Constitution, approved by referendum in 1995. To commemorate this date and the fifth anniversary of victory in the Second Karabakh War, the country has declared 2025 the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty."

Various celebratory events are being held today, including an international parliamentary conference and the issuance of a commemorative medal.

The Constitution of Azerbaijan consists of five sections, twelve chapters, and one hundred and fifty-eight articles. It has been amended three times by referendum: in August 2002, March 2009, and September 2016.
