Across the world, including in Ukraine and Europe, commemorating the victims of Stalin's deportation of Chechens and Ingush people are currently taking place.
The Georgian Parliament refused to consider a petition to cancel direct flights with Russia. The document was signed by 6,084 Georgian citizens.
“The state has a position that it does not impose sanctions against Russia, because this will primarily harm the economy of our country and affect our citizens. This decision has been justified more than once by different arguments and positions. Therefore, we consider it inappropriate to study the petition in detail discuss it,” said the chairman of the parliamentary committee, David Songulashvili.
Earlier, the head of EU diplomacy, Joseppe Borrell, expressed dissatisfaction with the resumption of air traffic between Georgia and Russia. Since May, after the resumption of flights between the countries, the Georgian opposition has held many rallies.
