February 23, 1944, marked a dark date in the history of two peoples of the North Caucasus: on the orders of Joseph Stalin, the total deportation of the Chechens and Ingush began. Half a million people were forcibly uprooted from their homes and sent into exile in Central Asia and Siberia.
On September 1, Human Rights Watch released a report on the illegal deportation of Ukrainians by Russian authorities and filtration camps. Most often, residents were forcibly deported from Mariupol and the Kharkov region. Citizens of Ukraine who ended up in Russia or the occupied territories went through “filtration” and repeated interrogations that were of an insulting nature. Those who aroused suspicion were sent to the territory of the “LPR” and “DPR”. There has been no information about most of these people since then.
In Ukraine, as a result of an unmanned aerial vehicle strike on the location of the 291st artillery brigade, two servicemen from Ingushetia were killed: Beslan Khautiyev from Malgobek, he left behind a pregnant wife and a small child; and Zelimkhan Vyshegurov from Nazran district, the only son in the family.
