The lowest poverty level is recorded in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and St. Petersburg (3.5%), in Moscow this figure is 4.1%. In Russia as a whole, the poverty level has decreased to 7.4%, which corresponds to 10.8 million people.
The poverty line in the second quarter of 2025 is set at 16,863 rubles. Analysts note the seasonality of the criterion, recommending comparing data for similar quarters of different years. This was reported by Nezavisimaya Gazeta, citing Rosstat data.
