Crimean Tatar political prisoners are illegally kept in prisons

Convicted political prisoners Arsen Abkhairov, Rustem Emiruseinov and Eskender Abdulganiev are kept in prisons. At the same time, six months ago they were supposed to be transferred to colonies. It is reported by "Crimean solidarity".

Prison is the most severe punishment in the Russian penitentiary system. The detainees are constantly in the cell and are limited in their movements. Sports, education or work in prison is not allowed.

Crimean Tatars were detained in 2019. The Southern District Military Court sentenced Rustem Emiruseinov to 17 years in prison, Eskender Abdulganiev to 12 years and Arsen Abkhairov to 13. They were accused of belonging to the Islamic party Hizb-ut-Tahrir banned in Russia. In Ukraine and other countries of the world, the organization operates without restrictions at the level of national legislation.
