At about one in the morning, up to 15 Russian military men entered the house on Lenin Street in the city of Shali. They lifted Muslim Rashidov out of bed, who returned from Stavropol only two weeks ago.

During the previous 10 months, on suspicion of participation in the armed formations of the CRI, this man was kept in a pre-trial detention center both on the territory of the republic and outside it. However, by a court decision, all charges against him were dropped. Therefore, to the military men who broke into his house, along with his passport, he also showed the decision of the court. The military said that they had other papers and that "to clarify the situation" he needed to go with them.

Muslim Rashidov was advised to dress "better" and take the necessary medicines with him. Under the pretext that the area around the house was mined, the relatives were forbidden to see the detainee. A neighbor tried to prevent him from being taken away, but he was beaten and thrown face down into a ditch by the military.

The next morning, the remains of Muslim Rashidov were found on the outskirts of the city. According to eyewitnesses, he was blown up, most likely already dead. Residents of outlying houses heard shots at night, and then a strong explosion.
