During a live broadcast, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov commented on the case of political prisoner Zarema Musayeva—the wife of federal judge Saidi Yangulbayev and mother of opposition activists Abubakar, Ibrahim, and Baysangur Yangulbayev. He claimed the woman was "taken" to Chechnya because her family members "worked on social media." A relevant excerpt from the broadcast was published by Chechen opposition blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan denied that the decision to remove the image of Mount Ararat from passport stamps was made under Turkish pressure. He emphasized that the issue had been discussed domestically long before contacts with Turkey and had never been the subject of bilateral negotiations.
Pashinyan stated that Armenia strives to be a responsible international partner, acting in accordance with generally accepted norms.
"We want the Republic of Armenia to be a responsible international partner and to live by internationally recognized standards," the prime minister said.
He compared the situation to crossing a road at a pedestrian crossing: "You do it not because someone is threatening you, but because you want to live by the rules."
Starting November 1, Armenia will no longer use the image of Mount Ararat on visa stamps.
