Georgian Prime Minister spoke about “Russian aggression” and support for Ukraine

For the first time in two years, the Georgian government spoke unequivocally about the sides of the “special operation.” Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said that Georgia stands firmly on the side of “the friendly Ukrainian people, which is expressed in powerful political and humanitarian support.” He also noted that “Russian military aggression has claimed the lives of tens of thousands of Ukrainians.”

“Exactly two years ago, a huge injustice fell on the heads of our friendly Ukrainian people. Russian military aggression has claimed the lives of tens of thousands of Ukrainians, including hundreds of children. More than 10 million people became refugees, the country's economy and infrastructure were destroyed, and 20% of Ukraine's territory was occupied. War every day brings casualties and destruction, which must definitely stop. I wish peace, sovereignty and territorial integrity to our friendly Ukrainian people,” Kobakhidze noted.

In addition, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, who has always publicly supported Ukraine, said on the anniversary of the start of the “SVO” that after two years of fierce fighting, Russia has not won.

“Two years have passed, but Russia has not won! Russia could not break Ukraine and your strength. Russia failed to divide Europe and separate you from Europe. Solidarity with you is unanimous, support is obvious, and success and victory are yours!” – said Salome Zurabishvili.
