Azerbaijani President: "There is no longer international law in the world"

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev made a number of statements in an interview with local television channels. He stated that the war with Armenia will end politically in 2025 and called the past year historic for Azerbaijani-American relations, attributing this to the end of the war and the Trump administration.

Aliyev criticized the Biden administration for suspending the waiver of Section 907 and expressed hope for its complete repeal by Congress. He also noted the strategic partnership with China, particularly in the military-technical sphere, and emphasized Azerbaijan's role in connecting Central Asia with the West. Aliyev stated that Azerbaijan will not participate in peace enforcement operations in the Gaza Strip and expressed skepticism about the existence of international law in the modern world.

"There is no longer international law in the world. Let everyone forget about it. There is strength, there is cooperation, there is alliance, there is mutual support," the Azerbaijani president concluded.
