A former State Duma deputy from Dagestan is being sued for 10 billion rubles in property

The Prosecutor General's Office has filed a 10 billion ruble lawsuit against former State Duma deputy from Dagestan, Rizvangadzhi Isayev. He is the brother of former Deputy Prime Minister of Dagestan Shamil Isayev, who was convicted of contracting the murder of journalist Gadzhimurad Kamalov.

The lawsuit relates to Rizvangadzhi Isayev's business activities in Dagestan and Krasnodar Krai during his time as a State Duma deputy (2007-2011), which violates Russian law. The Prosecutor General's Office accuses him of receiving land plots in Kuban, government contracts through controlled companies, and construction sites at preferential prices in exchange for the construction of social facilities that were never completed. In connection with this, the authorities are demanding the seizure of 90% of Gaztrasbank shares owned by the former deputy's family, a third of Helios, and shares in other companies in favor of the state. The total value of the shares is estimated at 10 billion rubles.

The defendants in the lawsuit, in addition to Rizvangadzhi Isayev himself, are his wife, ex-wife, children, and daughter-in-law. According to the prosecutor's office, they and individuals under their control also own significant real estate in Moscow, Dagestan, and the Krasnodar Territory.

It is worth noting that Rizvangadzhi Isayev's brother, Shamil Isayev, was sentenced to 16 years in prison for organizing the murder of journalist Khadzhimurad Kamalov in 2011. Isayev later participated in the SVO (SVO) and returned home under an amnesty.
