A "Cordial" Reception in Warsaw: Pashinyan and Tusk Discuss Cooperation and Peace Agenda

On Wednesday, February 25, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan arrived in Warsaw for a two-day official visit. He began the day with a meeting with his Polish counterpart, Donald Tusk, after which he posted a video. In the video, which quickly went viral on social media, Donald Tusk makes a "heart" with his fingers—the Armenian leader's signature gesture.

As reported by Armenpress, citing the Information and Public Relations Department of the Office of the Prime Minister of Armenia, the official visit began with a welcome ceremony. Following this, the two countries' representatives held a one-on-one meeting.

Welcoming the Armenian Prime Minister's official visit, Donald Tusk expressed confidence that it would give new impetus to the development of bilateral relations in all areas. He emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation with Armenia, particularly in the economic, infrastructure, security, education, science, and other areas. Tusk also noted the Polish government's interest, including as a member state of the European Union, in strengthening and deepening cooperation with Armenia.

In turn, Nikol Pashinyan thanked the Polish side for the warm welcome and emphasized the importance of further developing multifaceted cooperation with Poland. He praised Warsaw's support for institutional reforms in Armenia and expressed hope for its continuation.

Speaking about prospects for trade and economic cooperation, Pashinyan noted the need to stimulate economic ties. He also emphasized Poland's role in deepening the partnership between Armenia and the European Union.

The two sides discussed a number of issues related to the implementation of joint programs. During the meeting, they touched upon the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the implementation of the TRIPP initiative, and the further development of cooperation between Armenia and the EU.
