The US and Armenia have distributed stakes in the Trump Route project

The US will gain control of the Armenian-American venture, TRIPP Development Company, with a 74% stake, to implement the Trump Route (TRIPP) project. The corresponding statement was published following a meeting between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in Washington.

Armenia will initially receive a 26% stake, with the potential to increase to 49%. TRIPP Development Company will receive rights to develop transport infrastructure in Armenia for 49 years, with a further extension.

The US emphasizes that the project will not violate Armenia's sovereignty and is aimed at strengthening peace in the South Caucasus, expanding trade, and ensuring access to resources. It is noted that for Yerevan, the project offers an opportunity to become a regional hub and attract investment.

Ararat Mirzoyan explained the distribution of shares in TRIPP (74% US, 26% Armenia) based on the investment volume of each party. Yerevan grants development rights, while Washington invests the bulk of the funds. After 49 years, taking into account the return of a portion of the American investment and the extension of the agreement, the ratio of shares will change. Meanwhile, Armenian customs and security officials will exercise full sovereign powers at the border.

The creation of the TRIPP corridor was preceded by a trilateral declaration signed on August 8, 2025, in Washington by Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Aliyev. The document addressed the peace settlement between Baku and Yerevan, as well as the creation of the TRIPP transport corridor.
