Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that during the 44-day war in Karabakh, an information campaign was launched against Azerbaijan with the aim of accusing Ankara of supporting Baku. He emphasized that these accusations relied on the rhetoric of Ankara's opponents and spread false information about Turkish arms supplies to Azerbaijan.
Lawyers for Russian citizen and billionaire Samvel Karapetyan reported that investigators in Armenia have brought new economic charges against him. The defense claims the charges are unfounded and lack any legal basis.
As a reminder, the Armenian parliament previously supported a bill allowing the nationalization of Karapetyan's company, Electric Networks of Armenia.
Samvel Karapetyan was arrested on June 19 in Yerevan. He was accused of publicly calling for a seizure of power in Armenia. Prior to this, the country's Investigative Committee reported the thwarting of an attempted terrorist attack and seizure of power, suspecting Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, leader of the opposition movement "Sacred Struggle."
Karapetyan is known as a Russian stooge. From pretrial detention, he accused the Armenian authorities of severing ties with Russia, emphasizing that Moscow, as Yerevan's main ally, values reliability, predictability, and honesty.
