In Dagestan, a city district deputy from Kizilyurt, Gamzat Shikhabudinov, was detained. He is suspected of participating in a double murder 17 years ago.

The murder of businessman Mirza Magomedov and his 13-year-old son occurred in August 2006 on the Rostov-Baku highway. Unknown people fired at his car and fled. Five people were detained on suspicion of participation in the crime. One of them was the current deputy Gamzat Shikhabudinov.

A little earlier in Kizilyurt, a 54-year-old police major from the MOVO battalion, a private security guard of the Russian Guard, was detained. He is also suspected of shooting a father and son on the Caucasus federal highway in the summer of 2006. At that time he worked as an inspector of the OVO service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
