Instead of Wagner PMC, more residents of Chechnya will be involved in the war with Ukraine

The number of military personnel from Chechnya participating in the war with Ukraine will be increased after the Wagner mercenaries left the combat zone. The recruitment of prisoners from prisons and colonies will also increase. This is reported by Bloomberg, citing a source in European intelligence.

According to the publication, Russian President Vladimir Putin seeks to avoid a new mobilization. Therefore, in the coming weeks, the bet will be made on convicts and Chechen fighters. Until now, the latter have been actively used for PR, but have not shown themselves to be an effective force, for which they have received the nickname “TikTok troops,” according to Bloomberg.
