The Nalchik Garrison Military Court sentenced 39-year-old contract soldier Batyr Kanshokov to two years in prison. He was found guilty of evading military service, while from September 2023 to January 2024 he took part in the SVO.

Since 2023, the Azerbaijani authorities have intensified repression against human rights defenders, lawyers, journalists, opposition politicians, activists and scientists. Torture and ill-treatment are widespread in places of detention. 30 Ukrainian children affected by the war have arrived in Azerbaijan for rehabilitation. As part of the 10-day program, they will be provided with medical and socio-psychological rehabilitation services. Individual consultations, group therapy sessions, yoga and dance classes will also be organized.
