The largest share of informal (shadow) employment of the population of the Russian Federation is found in Ingushetia (54%), Dagestan (51%) and Kabardino-Balkaria (48%), according to Rosstat. Most often, such workers work in the areas of trade and repair of vehicles.
According to the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation, Ingushetia and Chechnya depend on receipts from the federal center for 83% and 81%. This is the highest rate among the regions. Tuva is also among the top three subsidy countries - 80.5%.
The RIA North Caucasus Republic News ranked the lowest on average wages in small and medium settlements. The worst situation is in Chechnya, where earnings are 24,000 rubles.

In 2022, real income of the population, adjusted for inflation, fell by 6.4 per cent from the regions of the Ingushetia Federal District. In KSR - 5.4%, in Stavropol 3%, in Chechnya - 0.5%.
